Valor Education
Director of Academic Achievement
Position Overview
The Director of Academic Achievement (DAA) will serve as the overall leader of our academic growth and performance initiatives at Valor, with a primary emphasis for the next three years on increasing math performance and growth. Key measures of achievement and growth will include STAAR testing results, MAP growth reports, and course-specific assessment data. The DAA will serve as Valor’s primary liaison and collaborator with Big Rock Educational services, a contracted service partner that provides training and mentorship in the areas of math curriculum alignment and using assessment data to inform classroom instruction. The DAA will also supervise a team of campus-level Deans of Mathematics, who will be the campus-level coordinators of this math performance and growth initiative. Goals for performance will be set each year by campus and grade level, and these will serve as the driving goals for the DAA’s work. The DAA will also oversee the accelerated instruction program for Valor schools, working closely with school leadership teams. The DAA will report to the Superintendent of Schools.
